Sturbridge, Massachusetts Photographer | Backup and Download Your Photographs

Hi friends!

Does backing up your digital images matter? The answer is YES!

I know the importance of living in a digital age. But technology isn't as reliable as you might think. Digitals are not tangible. In the blink of an eye, they can be gone. Computers crash, systems go down and your iphone can hold only so much storage. As your photographer I can’t guarantee i will have your photographs years from now. I get to work with a ton of wonderful families including your own and each gallery takes up storage on my end. There is ample amount of time to download your images. Then they are archived for 20 days at no cost. After 20 days you gallery goes into my back end system where it will stay. There is no guarantee that your photographs will be in this back end system years from now.

Don’t put all of your digitals on Facebook as a storage backup thinking they will be there forever. Why?  I'm going to get a little technical here....Because unfortunately when you post images on Facebook it compresses the image, reduce the number of pixels, therefore making that image quality low. You wouldn't want to make any prints of your images from Facebook because they will result in grainy, blurry, and not sharp images.

So how do you save your digitals and make sure they are protected forever? I recommended using at least 3 ways listed below:

1. Your computer: Save your images onto your computers hard drive. This can be your go-to-place to grab your images to post to social media or email to a friend.

2. An external hard drive: I have tons of these because of the industry I work in. I don't think you need as much as me but even one of them will be a backup for your images to ensure if something was to happen to your computer where your images are stored then you will still have them on your external drive.

3. The USB add on: I offer all of my clients this add on at every session to ensure you have yet another way to make sure you have those favorite images forever. The USB is compact and comes with a USB box so you know where your photographs are at all times.

4. Printed Artwork: Lastly this is my FAVORITE way of keeping images!  At Jaime Caitlyn Photography we specialize in keepsakes and heirlooms guaranteed to last generations. Your beautiful images, your family, your baby, your most cherished loved ones were not meant to be left on a computer or in a box in your junk drawer. Decorate your house with your Wall Art where your children are reminded daily of your love for them. Want all your digitals printed? Get our heirloom album. Want your favorite one? Get a canvas. Purchasing artwork is another step to making sure your digitals are safe.

Booking into August 2024.
